      EQUIPPING THE EQUIPABLE

STATUS: PLANNING

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Poverty is a disease that has crippled africa for far too long. A seemingly endless cycle has kept most africans from breaking out of their circumstances. More than 30 per cent of children in developing countries – about 600 million – live on less than US $1 a day. Every 3.6 seconds one person dies of starvation. Usually it is a child under the age of 5. With these alarming numbers, Licensed 2 Heal aims to help families help themselves. We will train individuals with various trade skills to help them change their lives. Training facilities will be built in key locations throughout africa to train men and women in sewing, hand-crafts, wood-work and other trades. These centers will be set up to equip individuals with skills and upon completion of their training, the resources to better their lives.

OBJECTIVES

- work with american based engineers, architects and investors to build training centers in africa.

- ship needed equipment to use in the training centers: sewing machines, wood-working machines and tools, and computers.

- implement a plan of action to help graduates of the training center start their own business to sustain themselves with tools or a microfinance loan.

STRATEGY

Empowerment is one of the most powerful tools in combating poverty. Simply providing for the temporary needs of an individual or family will not last for the future. By equipping individuals with knowledge and skills, we are giving them tools to better their own lives and their families.

PARTNERSHIPS

We will partner with good-willed people to obtain the tools and resources to ship to these centers in africa. We will build the centers wth the help of architects, engineers and investors in developed countries. Graduates of our centers will be trained to lead and train others in the center.
